Lumela Care Guide: How to Keep Your Canvas Bag Looking Its Best

Lumela Care Guide
I’ve always believed that a bag should be easy to live with.
Not something you have to worry about constantly, but something you can use every day, clean when needed, and trust to hold up over time.
Lumela bags are made with cotton canvas, light internal structure, and durable hardware. They’re designed to hold their shape just enough, while still feeling soft and comfortable to carry.
This is how I personally care for mine.
Cleaning Your Canvas Bag

Most of the time, a full wash isn’t necessary.
If something gets on your bag, I recommend spot cleaning.
I usually take a soft cloth, mix a little mild soap with cool water, and gently clean the area. It doesn’t take much, and it helps keep the bag looking fresh without putting stress on the material.
Because the bags have light structure inside, I avoid soaking them or putting them in the washing machine. Too much water can affect the shape over time.
Drying and Reshaping
After cleaning, I let the bag air dry.
I either lay it flat or hang it, depending on the space. While it’s drying, I gently reshape it with my hands so it keeps its form.
I don’t twist or wring the fabric. Keeping it simple works best here.
Heat and Ironing
Canvas doesn’t need much heat, but if I ever feel like it needs a refresh, I use a low iron on the reverse side with a cloth in between.
I try to avoid seams and hardware, and I keep it minimal. Most of the time, just reshaping while drying is enough.
Taking Care of the Details

Small habits make a big difference over time.
I try not to overfill my bag, especially to protect the seams and keep the shape consistent. I also close zippers and snaps gently and keep hardware dry.
These are simple things, but they help the bag last longer.
How Canvas Ages
One of the things I love about canvas is how it ages.
Over time, it softens and develops a more natural look. It doesn’t feel worn out—it just feels more like yours.
That’s part of the beauty of using something every day.
A Simple Way to Care
I don’t think bag care should feel complicated.
For me, it’s about keeping things simple. Clean it when needed, let it dry naturally, and use it without overthinking.
That’s exactly how Lumela bags are meant to be used.
Final Note
With proper care, your Lumela bag will hold its shape, stay functional, and continue to be part of your everyday routine.
Simple care, for something made to be used every day.
